You may verify tweets from the main website or through the Aurorasaurus app on your mobile device. Read the tweet and consider the question, “Did they just see the aurora?”. Select the most appropriate response:
Yes (Select YES if the tweet is a real sighting from a person who has just seen aurora AND if the location appears correct)
No (Select NO if it is a retweet, clearly has the wrong location, does not refer to recent sighting, OR is a tweet about something unrelated to the northern lights.)
If you do not know how to classify a tweet, skip it and go to the next one. Before a tweet is verified by multiple users, its location appears on the map with a gray background. Verified tweets appear on the interactive map with a blue background. On the website, you may choose to verify either the most recent tweets or tweets nearest your location. (This choice is not available in the mobile app.)
Verify as many tweets as you like. You may verify tweets anonymously (without being logged in), but you do not earn points.
